Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian songwriter and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences of jazz and hip hop. Ani diFranco was the first musician to start her own record label in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd of 1970, the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who been in contact while at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is Italian heritage, and her mother comes from Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and sang 32 Flavors. This song appears on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. A variation of the song is featured on the movie soundtrack for 1999's Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized to the organizers of a workshop held in Louisiana on an old plantation for slaves. The workshop was cancelled, but several (including this piece) didn't detect remorse. DiFranco apologized for her mistake a couple of days following. While she's best known as Little Folksinger her music includes a wide range of styles. Her collaborators vary from Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. She is a resident of New Orleans. Ani diFranco and Kristen Ford are together. At 14, she began to write her own music. She would perform them at coffee shops and bars throughout her teens. DiFranco started taking lessons at Buffalo State College at age sixteen after having graduated from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. The new baritone she got was made by custom Alvarez constructed by Chrys Johnston who at that time worked as an Alvarez artist rep. The System 600 preamp is on it, and the guitar is made of mahogany on the top and back that has an ebony fretboard. It's her home with her family in New Orleans where she lives with her husband two children along with their sidekick Lefty their long-legged dog who moves around the frame when we're talking. DiFranco acknowledged that she experiences mixed feelings regarding her career which spans more than three decades. Ani DiFranco is a Punk/Folk singer-songwriter. She gained hero status among fans and critics at age 25 with Not A Pretty Girl, 1995. Dilate was even more than popular in the year 1996. This is the single from 1972 by the American pop band Looking Glass. It was written by Looking Glass lead guitarist and co-vocalist Elliot Lurie.
