Her tenure working at The Washington Post was spent reporting on multiple Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. In 2004 Nichols moved on to ESPN for nine years in which she earned two Emmy Awards and appeared on some of the network's most popular shows, such as SportsCenter and NFL Countdown.
